La Muela II
Operated by Iberdrola, the pmped-storage power plant La Muela was extended by a second pump unit. Thanks to this expansion and the newly doubled capacity La Muela became Europes biggest power plant of its type. The 720m long pressure line (diameter: 5m, inclination: 45 degrees) connects the two water reservoirs. WBHS used a new specialized heat-treatment process called RTE for the first time treating a 300 meter long part of the line successfully.
Nant de Drance
Nante de Drance is truly a power plant project of superlatives: 17 kilometers if tunnels, 1.7 million cubic meters of excavated material and a capacity of 900MW puts Nant de Drance on par with Europe’s biggest pumped storage power plants. WBHS was responsible for onsite heat treatment services. The following video shows the scale of the construction of such a plant.
Tala Plant Bhutan
In Bhutan WBHS was part of the project team that built a new power station. We were responsible for the on-site heat treament of Y-shaped construction part.
Storage Plant Kaprun
The storage power plant in Kaprun, which has been operated by Verbund Hydro Power since 1999, was expanded from 2007 to 2010 with the pumped storage power plant Limberg II.
The WBHS was instrumental in the expansion of the Kaprun power plant due to the annealing of a 140 ton Y-piece.
Biomass Plant Heiligenkreuz
In Heiligenkreuz, the biomass power plant operated by BEGAS Energie was built from 2004 until commissioning in 2006. For this project, the WBHS carried out the assembly glow – in our gallery you can find some impressions of this exciting project.
